Many flats above shops are on streets with time-banded collections.

Residents who live in flats above shops in these areas should only put their securely bagged recycling and rubbish bags out at set times during the day.

Rubbish that is put out too early can block the pavement and be ripped into by foxes.

If you don’t live in one of these areas, then please have your recycling and rubbish outside your property by 7am on your collection day.

Belsize Village

We are trialing new black ‘grit-bin’ style containers, for orange bagged household rubbish, in Belsize Village.

This to make waste collection more convenient for residents living above shops, enabling these residents to dispose of their orange bagged household rubbish at any time of day.

Only residents living in flats above shops, on the following streets, should put their securely tied-up rubbish bags in these containers:

27 to 72 Belsize Lane
7 to 12 Belsize Terrace

The trial containers can be found on the street at:

corner of Belsize Lane/ Belsize Place
corner of Belsize Lane/ Belsize Terrace

Your orange bagged household rubbish should be placed into one of the containers provided, which means you must no longer place it directly on the street.

Please:

place your bags inside the container and then close the lid
do not put waste on top, next to or around the containers
do not put loose waste in the containers.

The containers will be emptied twice a day.

Clear bagged recycling should continue to be left out on the street, outside your property, each morning.
