If domestic abuse is happening to you, it's important to tell someone. Domestic abuse can lead to physical injuries and affect your mental health. Remember that you’re not alone.

They provide independent, confidential, and non-judgemental support and advocacy. If it is not safe for you to stay in Camden, you can approach any council to get support.

Speak to your GP

Talk to your GP if you're worried about domestic abuse or your mental health.

Your GP can refer you quickly and safely to Camden Safety Net. 

Mental health support

Get mental health support from Camden services. Camden Safety Net can work with you to find the right service.

The Samaritans are there to listen, whatever you’re going through. Call 116 123, they are open 24 hours a day. 

Support in hospital

Talk to a member of staff or the safeguarding team who will refer you to Camden Safety Net.

Support if you are pregnant or have children

Pregnancy can increase the risk of domestic abuse. Your midwife will ask you about your relationship during your regular check-ups. They are trained in how to support you if you tell them you are experiencing domestic abuse. 

Counselling and support for survivors

If you have separated from the abuser, you may be able join an online support group and access counselling services. Call the Camden Safety Net duty worker on 020 7974 2526 or email [email protected] for more information.
